Local Insurance Agency Awards $5K to Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation
Supporters Can Help Double the Donation to $10,000 by Voting for their Agent Giving Story
Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance have awarded Insurance Services of Washington a 2025 Make More Happen Award for its volunteerism with the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation (PFF), a nonprofit organization dedicated to accelerating the development of new treatments and ultimately a cure for pulmonary fibrosis. The award includes an initial donation of $5,000 for the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation which can be doubled to $10,000 by having community supporters vote online.
The Insurance Services of Washington and Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation community story is highlighted on the official Make More Happen microsite at www.agentgiving.com/insurance-services-washington/, where supporters can vote to help the team reach their donation goal. If the featured story receives a mix of at least 500 votes and comments, the $5,000 donation will be raised to $10,000. The $10,000 donation will allow PFF to further its mission and support those impacted by pulmonary fibrosis by researching new treatments and medicine and advocating for local and national legislation to make it easier to access supplemental oxygen, which many patients rely on in their daily lives.
Rebecca Hall, owner of Insurance Services of Washington, was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis interstitial lung disease at the age of 37. Brought on by an autoimmune condition, the disease causes scarring of lung tissue that makes it increasingly difficult for her to breathe. Rebecca sought help from the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation (PFF).

Rebecca soon recognized the need for a support group focused on younger women like herself. In partnership with her doctor and the PFF, they created Young and WILD – women with Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) – a community designed to help educate, support and fight the disease. In addition to running Young and WILD, Rebecca volunteers her time planning the Greater Seattle PFF support group’s annual walk. Her staff at Insurance Services of Washington have been her biggest champions, coming together to participate in and donate to the walk. In 2024, they eclipsed their fundraising goal of $2,500 and collected more than $8,000. Agency employees and family members walked in team t-shirts designed and provided by Insurance Services of Washington.
“Helping to make our community a better place has always been important to our team and PFF has given us a way to make a real difference,” said Rebecca. “We are grateful to Liberty Mutual and Safeco for providing much-needed funds to continue their impactful work and thrilled at the opportunity to double the donation just by calling on the community to show their support.”

Until there is a cure for Pulmonary Fibrosis, PFF is committed to advancing improved care of patients with the disease and providing unequaled support and education resources for patients, caregivers, family members and health care providers.
“Recognizing independent agents’ dedication to their communities and nonprofit partners is what the Make More Happen Awards are all about,” said Kelly Lynch, Safeco Senior Territory Manager. “Insurance Services of Washington is an outstanding example of how agencies can make a real difference, and we hope sharing their story inspires others to give back as well.”
Throughout 2025, Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance will select up to 36 independent agencies nationwide for a Make More Happen Award, donating up to $360,000 to nonprofits they support.
