Mohit first held a Cricket bat in India when he was 3 years old. Even at that age, his competitiveness was astonishing; he wanted to win! At 4 years of age, he started playing with tennis ball, hitting some good shots to break the windows of neighbors.

Turning 6, Mohit moved to the US and continued his cricket journey in the cold and rainy weather of Seattle. The weight of his professional cricket gear exceeded the weight of Mohit himself, but he still managed to impress.

“I was a very good soccer player, but I found my passion in cricket” said Mohit. “It’s the game I love and admire.”

Mohit played his first white leather ball T20 tournament as part of Seattle Youth Cricket League (SYCL) at the age of 11 and established himself as one of the best opening batsmen at his age group.

When Mohit turned 13, his capabilities allowed him to start playing at the national level, continuously participating in tournaments across the country. During this time, Mohit was awarded with many Most Valuable Player, Man of the Match, Best Batsman, and Best Fielder awards.

“I enjoy every moment of practice with my coaches in Major League Cricket Academy, and in summer, I spend 6-8 hours a day playing cricket games or practicing” he mentioned.

2 years ago, Mohit also started participating in the Northwest Cricket League (NWCL Adult League), and in 2021, at the age of 16 years, he was awarded with the “Emerging Youth Player” award.

Mohit has shared his love for this game with society as well. As a student of Tesla STEM High school, Mohit founded Cricket Club to encourage others to play the sport and to connect with like-minded people.

Mohit loves explaining to his club members how Cricket is different from Baseball but similar too. “I don’t need to swing only or make runs. Instead, I need to defend and use technical skills to play shots on the ground.”

Mohit describes Cricket as an “intense, exciting, and fun game to play.”
