Virtual Recreation
The city’s Recreation & Neighborhoods Division is presenting a number of free virtual activities. Registration is available at rentonwa.gov/register.

Run into Summer 30K (June 1-July 3)– Use the month of June to prepare for a healthy summer with our 30K challenge. Participants are sent a running log to help keep track of your distance. Once you reach 30K, send it back in to receive your ribbon. It’s a great way to prepare for our Stars & Strides Virtual 5K on July 4.
Trivia Tuesday - starts next Tuesday, June 30 at 6:30 p.m. Team up with friends or family to take part in this virtual trivia challenge. Games are designed by TriviaHub Live and consist of three rounds over 60 minutes. Contestants can play alone or as part of a team using a computer or mobile device. Prizes will be awarded.
The first night will feature “Stars and Stripes” trivia while week two on July 14 is “Disney Trivia.” Participants will be asked to vote on subjects for succeeding contests. Contests will be held every other Tuesday through October 6.
Campin’ Out - Plans are underway for a four-week Campin’ Out series. Each week will have a theme and Community Services staff have arranged for some fun and informative virtual entertainment.
- Week 1 (July 6-10): Wellness in the Wilderness
- Week 2 (July 13-17): Under the Stars
- Week 3 (July 20-24): Campin' with Critters
- Week 4 (July 27- 31): Van Gogh Outdoors
For example, in week one, there will be a martial arts demonstration. Other weeks might include yoga, dance, sing-a-longs and even a biologist. Recreation and Neighborhoods staff are being creative to bring Renton residents fun and interesting programming for free.
Summer Meals
Renton Schools Summer Meal Summer Meals program program started this past Monday. Meals must be pre-ordered and picked up at designated school or community sites.
Farmers Market
Renton Farmers Market has returned for its 19th season a little different, but still offering the best place to find the freshest Washington-grown produce, flowers and other staples from your favorite farmers, a tradition since 2002.
The market is open Tuesdays through September 29 from 3 to 7 p.m. in Gateway Park (corner of South Third Street and Logan Avenue South in downtown Renton), just west of its usual Piazza Park location.
Free two-hour parking is available at the City Center Garage (655 S. Second St.). The market is also adjacent to the Renton Transit Center for easy access from public transportation.
Supporting the arts
The Renton Municipal Arts Commission has grants for individuals, organizations and community groups for arts and culture projects that serve the general public in Renton.
Grants range from $1,000-$10,000 and can be used to fund innovative projects that fill cultural gaps and inspire new forms of creative participation, particularly for underserved groups.
COVID-19 Concert on June 24
On Wednesday, June 24 at 7 p.m., All In WA will host A Concert for COVID-19 Relief presented by Amazon featuring some of the biggest names in music in the Northwest. The concert will raise money to support workers and families impacted by COVID-19 throughout our state and donate back to communities.
The concert is available online at All In WA and Twitch, and over the air on KING 5, KONG and KSKN.
