• Seattle's Martin Luther King Jr. Way to extend into Kent, Renton (seattletimes.com) — Renton drivers will soon see Martin Luther King Jr. Way extended into the city as new memorial signage goes up along Highway 515, without changing any existing street names or addresses. The Washington State Transportation Commission approved the extension after years of advocacy, aiming to symbolically link Seattle, Renton, and Kent while honoring Dr. King and South King County’s shared civil rights history. 
• Year in review: Top Kent stories in 2025 (kentreporter.com) — Kent’s 2025 most-read stories include two major tragedies tied to Renton: a Kent woman’s long prison sentence for killing her daughter in Renton and a Kent teen’s 17-year sentence for a high-speed crash that killed four near Renton. • Pedestrian struck and killed by semi-truck in Kent, WA (fox13seattle.com) — A deadly early-morning crash in Kent killed a 31-year-old Auburn pedestrian after he was struck by a semi-truck, with a Renton driver in a second car spinning into the truck while trying to avoid the victim. Police say neither speed nor impairment were factors, both drivers stayed at the scene, and the investigation is now closed.
