After Chilly Week, A Sunnier Weekend Awaits: Western WA Weather
Saturday is National Play Outside Day. Fortunately, the weather will make playing outside easy.
SEATTLE — It's been a pretty chilly week — we even had a shot at some lowland snow Wednesday — but, fortunately, it's shaping up to be a great weekend to get out and enjoy the outdoors. Perfect timing, too because, as the National Weather Service points out, Saturday is both National Weatherperson's Day and National Play Outside Day, so you can thank your weatherperson, and maybe step out and enjoy that slightly warmer, slightly sunnier weather.
Speaking of the sun, I don't know about you, but I'm getting pretty tired of seeing clouds like this:

Luckily then, we're due for just a little bit of sunshine. Starting Saturday, forecasters predict mostly cloudy skies (still an improvement over the cloudy and rainy skies Friday), with cloud cover breaking up sometime in the mid or late afternoon. Sunday, fittingly, will be even better, with partly sunny skies throughout. Sunday should also be when the temperature difference really becomes noticeable, with a sweltering high of 50 degrees, after weeks in the mid to low 40s.

Not a lot of weather action expected this first week of February. A few showers & plenty of partly sunny days by the weekend. SNOOZE!

After the weekend ends, it's back to the grind: Meaning that we can expect another weak front to move in Monday, bringing in more clouds and a greater chance for rain. As the week rolls on, however, temperatures will heat up, for what the weather service is calling a "pretty tame" first half of the month.
