'Amazon Go' Opening Monday In Seattle
The checkout-free grocery store on 7th Avenue will open to the public this week.

SEATTLE, WA -- Ready to try out Amazon's bold new grocery store? Amazon Go is officially open to the public beginning at 7 a.m. Monday, the company announced.
The grocery store, which opened 14 months ago to Amazon employees, is a checkout free zone. Customers just need to download the Amazon Go app and use the app when they enter the store. After signing into the app, customers can browse and shop just like any other store. The app will automatically charge the credit card on file.
"Our Just Walk Out Technology automatically detects when products are taken from or returned to the shelves and keeps track of them in a virtual cart. When you’re done shopping, you can just leave the store. Shortly after, we’ll send you a receipt and charge your Amazon account," the company said.

Calling it a "new kind of store," Amazon Go offers ready-to-eat meals, snacks and groceries like bread, milk and cheese in an 1,800-square-foot retail space.
Amazon said the company created the store to "push the boundaries of computer vision and machine learning to create a store where customers could simply take what they want and go."
