KING COUNTY, WA — King County deputies are asking the public to help them identify a fake delivery driver who they say is snatching up packages rather than dropping them off. One homeowner's surveillance cameras recently caught the thief in the act, according to the sheriff's office.

On Oct. 6, deputies said video footage taken in the 36000 block of 21st Lane South just outside the city limits of Auburn, shows a man walking up to the homeowner's porch with a plastic bin and paperwork in his hand. He dumps the bin and grabs a large package, which contained a fancy organizer, and hauls it to a silver Ford Taurus.

"We had the good fortune of the surveillance cameras capturing the license plate. But, as is so often the case, the car was stolen from the City of Kent and is of no help in finding the identity of this thief," the sheriff's office said on its official Facebook page.
