Funnel Cloud Spotted Over Ballard Sunday Afternoon (VIDEO)
A Twitter user who goes by "Capitol Hill Matt" spotted the funnel from the parking lot of Fred Meyer off of 45th in Ballard on Sunday.

SEATTLE, WA – On Sunday afternoon, a guy who tweets under the name, "Capitol Hill Matt" had run out to the Fred Meyer off of 45th in the Ballard neighborhood. Besides groceries, he ended up with more than he bargained for.
Around 12:30, in the parking lot, he looked up and spotted a funnel cloud in the distance. It was moving northeast.

He tweeted out video of the funnel cloud and tagged the National Weather Service to let them know.
There were no reports of damage, which is not surprising since it never touched the ground.

Tornados and funnel clouds are the result of powerful thunderstorms, which do not happen all that often in the Pacific Northwest.
