From The U.S. Global Leadership Coalition: The U.S. Global Leadership Coalition (USGLC) will host U.S. Representative Adam Smith, General Peter Chiarelli, and other key, local political and business leaders for a lunch forum on Thursday, April 20 to discuss how American leadership abroad bolsters our national security and creates jobs here at home. Washington is a hub for international trade and home to some of the largest global brands and organizations with rapidly growing international operations in emerging markets. Washington exports more than $86 billion in goods to foreign markets a year and trade supports over 945,000 local jobs, making U.S. international engagement a strategic economic issue for the state.
