Rain On The Way? Washington Weather Forecast
Puget Sound has been in a bit of a dry streak, but that could change when a cold trough moves in this week. Here's what to know.
SEATTLE — Puget Sound's monthlong dry spell will continue for at least the next few days, but there is a chance it could be broken later this coming week.
Some places may have technically seen the dry streak broken Saturday morning, as the NWS fielded reports of a few scattered showers dropping immeasurably small amounts of rain, but most of Western Washington saw cloudy skies— and dry ground.

Those cloudy skies should stick around through Sunday morning, before evaporating midday. There is a chance for rain in the northern Cascades, but it's likely to remain bone dry in the lowlands. After the weekend, it should be sunny and mostly clear through Wednesday, with highs in the upper 80s and lows near 60.

Wednesday afternoon is when the real fun begins, as a pair of upper level lows will push into Washington from Alaska and California. Neither of those troughs is carrying much moisture, but together there is a chance they could bring some much-needed water to the region.
It will also bring some cooler-than-normal temperatures as well.

The chance for rain will only increase from there as more moisture moves in from the coast. All day Thursday the National Weather Services predicts a chance of showers, and Friday showers will be even more likely. By then, high temperatures will have dropped from mid-to-low 80s, where they are now, to the mid to low 70s. Overnight lows will remain stable, around 60 to 63 degrees.
Normally, the possibility of showers is nothing to get excited about: Western Washington is famous for its rain for a reason. But the current dry spell is approaching the state record. Seattle's record for the most consecutive days without rain is 55 days, set in 2017, the Seattle Times reports. As of Saturday, it has been 47 days without rain.
