Each year, Google uses trillions of searches and a trove of data to help Washington residents pick out the perfect Halloween costume. Finding it — or knowing which costumes to avoid — is as easy as visiting Frightgeist, the tech company’s website showcasing the most-searched Halloween costumes nationwide and in every state, according to Google Trends.

Curious about which costumes Washington residents are eyeing? Here’s a look at the most-searched costumes according by region:

• Top costume in Puget Sound: Cruella De Vil
• Top costume in the tri-cities: A horse
• Top costume in Spokane: Rabbit

Other commonly searched costumes in Western Washington were: Witch, "1980s" (expect to see a lot of spandex and mullets Sunday), Devil and Vampire.

This year's top picks are pretty different from 2020's top costumes. Last year, Washingtonians were mostly wearing Angel, Dinosaur, Harley Quinn, Witch, and Spider get-ups.

Nationally, “witch” is still the most-searched Halloween costume, according to Google’s list.
