Officers arrested a man in Auburn following an assault on a woman Thursday morning in Georgetown.

Police responded to the 4700 block of 1st Avenue South for a report of a woman who had just been attacked while exercising in the area.
Officers spoke with the woman who stated that she was jogging through the area when an unknown man jumped on her back and groped her. The woman was able to shake the man off her back and he took off running. The woman chased the man back to his car and took note of his license plate.

Officers contacted King County Deputies who tracked the owner of the vehicle down at his home in Auburn. Deputies took the 18-year-old man into custody for indecent liberties after he admitted to committing the crime.
Police booked the man into King County Jail for indecent liberties. Sexual assault detectives will now work with the Prosecutor’s office as this case moves forward.
