At 3:54 p.m., multiple 911 callers reported two men fighting on the sidewalk at the intersection of North 45th Street and Meridian Avenue North. As the fight ended and the men separated, one of the callers saw that one of the men had been stabbed in the abdomen.
Seattle Fire Department medics responded and transported the 61-year-old victim to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition.

Witnesses at the scene provided police with a description of the suspect, and officers found the man several blocks away, still in possession of a knife.
Police arrested the 65-year-old man and booked him into King County Jail for first-degree assault.
