Detectives are investigating after a 42-year-old man was shot in the Georgetown neighborhood late Friday morning.

At 10:40 AM, a witness approached a City of Seattle employee working near the 500 block of South Michigan Street and said a man had just been shot nearby. The city worker called 911 and reported the incident to police.

Officers arrived on scene and immediately began first aid on a 42-year-old victim. Seattle Fire Department Medics took the man to Harborview Medical Center for treatment.

Police spoke with witnesses who said there was some type of disturbance between the victim and an unidentified man prior to the shooting. Officers searched the area with a K-9 but were unable to locate the suspect.
