Sunny Skies To Give Way To Rainy Washington Week
If at any point you can see the sun this week, savor that precious, fleeting moment like a diamond.

WASHINGTON — We have a scant few days to soak up the sunlight before the clear skies are blotted out by rain and clouds later this week.
As the National Weather Service notes, it's only fair we see the rain return after a week of sun. In fact, San Diego has seen nearly twice as much rain as Seattle has this month, so you could say we were due for some bad weather.
Still, it hurts to see this infographic showing the cloudy skies rolling in on Thursday and then sticking around through the weekend.

Who's had 82% more rain than Seattle so far this month? San Diego, that's who! After the past winter, we've probably earned the sunshine we'll see tomorrow. Things turn wetter for the second half of the week. #wawx pic.twitter.com/M3K9POyfYU

If you're the optimistic sort, that does mean we will at least see mostly sunny skies Tuesday and Wednesday though.
It's worth noting for plant lovers that Monday and Tuesday nights will have some lows near the freezing point, so you may want to move any vulnerable plants back indoors.

Tonight's forecast low of 30 in Seattle is rather uncommon for the second half of March. How much so? In the past 40 years, it's happened less than 3% of the time. In 37 of those 40 years, it didn't happen at all. #wawx

Forecasters also say to expect patchy freezing fog Tuesday morning, which will cause some areas to have visibility of a quarter mile or less. They're reminding everyone to slow down, use your headlights and stay focused on the road if you're commuting through that fog.
After the fog, the weather should let up, leading to mostly sunny skies for much of the afternoon. Wednesday will be more of the same, but clouds will begin to build in the afternoon: a dire harbinger of the days to come.
Following Wednesday, we can expect to be lulled into some all-too-familiar Washington weather: cloudy skies and rain showers, which are expected to stick around through at least the weekend.
