Washington Weather: Showers, Potential For Thunderstorms Incoming
Labor Day weekend was a rare treat, with sunny skies and warm temperatures throughout. Unfortunately, it was not to last.
SEATTLE — Well, it was nice while it lasted. Labor Day weekend was just about perfect, weather-wise, especially Labor Day itself, which saw crisp, sunny skies, pleasantly high highs and only some minor cloud cover in the morning.
Unfortunately, the Pacific Northwest never lets the sun shine for long. Good news first: Tuesday will be more of the same, a dry, sunny day with a high in the low to mid 70s for much of Puget Sound. The bad news: after Tuesday, the forecast looks a lot darker.
Meteorologists say they're predicting an unsettled pattern will move in starting early Wednesday — bringing rain showers with it, and even the potential for thunderstorms in some areas. On the bright side, it should remain relatively warm despite the cloud cover, with some highs even reaching into the low 80s in the interior.

8 years ago tonight, one of the greatest t-stormof the past several decades was underway. For those of you craving some weather action, early September is often a good time for thunder in #Seattle. And a chance exists this year, on Tue/Wed.

The unsettled weather will remain through Thursday, and though the already-slight chance for thunderstorms will lessen significantly, a weak system will also move in that day, bringing even more rainfall with it. That will also cause the temperature to drop some, chilling highs to the low 70s for the interior and into the 60s along the coast.
Thursday night will be mostly cloudy with a slight chance of showers. Friday will be much the same with clouds and a chance for showers all day and night — and while it's too early to tell for sure, it looks like it'll stay cloudy and rainy for the following weekend as well.

So, if you can, soak up the sun Tuesday while it sticks around, because Puget Sound is looking at a long haul of gray, dour skies.
