Wednesday On Track To Be Hottest Day Yet Of 2021: WA Weather

Forecasters say the high could push all the way past 60 - practically sweltering if you ask us.

WASHINGTON — It's about to be so hot in the Puget Sound that you might almost consider cranking the AC.

You probably won't need to, but you might think about it.

That's because Wednesday is set to be the warmest day of the year yet for the Puget Sound with a whopping 61 degree high — possibly even higher in some places across the interior. If you're new to the PNW that may not seem like much, but it is warmer than we've seen yet in 2021, and a sign that spring is finally around the corner.

Some folks are getting pretty excited.

Not only will it be warm, but it should be sunny and clear skies — perfect for taking in a little nature, if you can.

While the highest temperature is expected Wednesday, the warm, dry weather is expected to stick around through Thursday. Friday more cloud cover will move in, but forecasters say it should remain "generally average" for the season.

Unfortunately, things go south just as soon as the weekend rolls around. That's when an upper level trough is expected to push into the region, bringing in rain and cooler conditions that will linger through at least the start of the next work week.

In other words: soak up that sun while you can.
