
The Arizona Cardinals knocked off the Seattle Seahawks, 20-16, in the NFL opener for both teams, in the Arizona desert, Sunday, Sept. 9.
Arizona took a 13-3 lead in third quarter, but Seattle rallied to take a 16-13 lead, thanks to a Russell Wilson touchdown pass to Sidney Rice, and a pair of Steven Hauschka field goals.
But Arizona scored the winning touchdown with about five minutes to play on a strike from backup quarterback Kevin Kolb to Andre Roberts. Kolb came in for starter John Skelton who was hurt earlier in the drive.

The Seahawks had one last chance to win after Wilson drove them from their own 20-yard-line to the Arizona 4-yard line but several passes fell incomplete as the Cardinals defense held.
Wilson completed 18 of 34 passes for 153 yards and a touchdown. He was intercepted once.

Seattle running back Marshawn Lynch, who played with a sore knee, carried 21 times for 85 yards.
