• Ten years of free community meals at Ronald Commons Café (shorelineareanews.com) — Shoreline’s Ronald Commons Café is marking 10 years and over 100,000 free community meals, with an anniversary celebration set for January 22, 2026. Every Thursday at 5:30 p.m., Shoreline residents can get a free dinner at Ronald United Methodist Church, supported by local congregations and volunteers.
   

• Sound Transit Board Sets Aside Idea of Skipping Second Downtown Tunnel (theurbanist.org) — Sound Transit board members are backing away from the idea of canceling Seattle’s second downtown light rail tunnel, a choice that helps preserve long-term system resiliency but leaves big cost questions. Because Shoreline is in the North King taxing subarea, local taxpayers are currently slated to cover 51% of that tunnel’s price tag, and some leaders are now questioning whether that share is fair.
