Interior Design 101: Pick a Great Paint Color

In this sticky economy homeowners need to spend wisely, but remodeling successfully takes skill. Rebecca West and SMY are launching a partnership to help make expert home upgrades
affordable by helping students learn to choose great color, match it to other design materials, and to hire a paint contractor or do-it-yourself with ease.

Homeowners considering a remodel have a million choices to make. The least expensive one is the wall color, but that one choice can either showcase the new cabinets and counters, or it can make the whole room feel dull and unfinished.

In her class Rebecca uses hands-on examples and materials to show how to coordinate paint color with other materials like flooring and counters and how to choose a paint color that is easy to live
with. Her student will start to choose color with more awareness and more success, and in addition you learn what questions to ask a painting contractor, what sheen of paint to use where, and what kinds of tools to use when tackling a paint project yourself.

Rebecca West is a passionate and experienced teacher. After one of her sessions Joe Shirley wrote "I can only speak for myself, but I got more out of her 2-hour class than I ever expected.
