Letter to the Editor: Fircrest Receives Assistance to Build Garden on Campus

Fircrest Residential Habilitation Center is the recipient of a Just Garden Project sponsored by Seattle Tilth and Lowes.

To the editor,

We are happy to announce that our family and friends who live at Fircrest Residential Habilitation Center have been the recipients of a Just Garden Project sponsored by Seattle Tilth and Lowes.Β Β  This is a wonderful gift and we are so thankful.Β  With the continued cuts to our state budget which hit our most vulnerable populations so immensely, this gift comes at a critical time.Β  Our residents need programs and projects which are meaningful to them.Β  This is one such project.Β

Fircrest will receive four raised garden beds, tools, plants, seeds and best of all a mentor to help with education.Β  We are so excited about this project and look forward to the build day of Saturday, June 9, 2012.Β
