Firefighters Extinguish Arson at Ridgecrest Hair Salon

No injuries reported in fire set Sunday night

Shoreline firefighters quickly extinguished a maliciously-set fire Sunday night in a small hair salon in the area of 165th and 5th Ave. NE, according to Shoreline Fire spokeswoman Melanie Granfors.

The fire was reported at approximately 11 p.m.β€”in a Β business located in the strip mall that also houses the Eastside Shoreline Police Storefront office.

The salon was closed and unoccupied at the time of the fire.

Fire crews arrived to find a small fire, and extinguished it within minutes.

Investigators from Shoreline Fire and the King County Fire Investigation Unit determined the cause to be arson, and haveΒ placed signs on the business regarding the incident. Β 

They are not releasing details of how the fire was set at this time.

No one was injured, and the scene was cleared a few minutes before midnight.

No further information will be available or released regarding this incident until after noon on Monday, December 19.
