LFP Police Blotter: Goats Escape Enclosure, Wreak Havoc on Neighborhood

The following blotter items and information from Aug. 6, 2012 through Aug. 12, 2012 were selected from the Lake Forest Park Police Department. The reports do not indicate a conviction. Please note missing dates means nothing to report.

August 6

SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES: A young woman was trespassing on the property of a home in the 2900 block of N.E. 193rd St. She said she thought she was at her friend’s house and was trying to get in. The person who lives there said she didn’t know the young woman. The young woman suspect was arrested and taken to the police station and issued a citation for trespassing. Police took her to her home and released her.

VEHICLE PROWL: Someone forced his or her way into a vehicle in the 3800 block of N.E. 155th St. and stole several small items.

August 7

TRAFFIC ACCIDENT: A 1997 white Subaru apparently went off the road in the 2800 block of N.E. Perkins Way and into the creek below. A passenger was taken to Northwest Hospital.

August 8

GOATS ESCAPE: A number of rental goats, as many as 20 got loose and started eating people’s flowers and gardens along 53rd Ave. N.E. and N.E. 190th St. Some were running in the road as well. Bothell Animal Control, King County Animal Control and citizens helped Lake Forest Park police get the goats back in their enclosure which was secured. The goats owner put up a secondary fence and said the goats would be gone later in the evening.

August 9

REAR END COLLISION: Four vehicles were involved in a rear-end collision heading southbound in the 14900 block of Bothell Way N.E. The first car to start the chain reaction was driven by a young woman who said her sunglasses fell to the floor and she looked away from traffic and when it stopped she was unable to react and hit the rear of the car in front of her.

BARKING DOG: Someone in the 14500 block of Edgewater Lane called police to report a neighbor’s dog was barking for about 15 min. The person has contacted King County Animal Control and said the dog barks on and off.

August 11

CARS TOILET PAPERED: Three cars parked in a driveway in the 3500 block of N.E. 147th St. were toilet papered and Kotex products were strewn about. On one car the kotex shields were used to make a smiley face.

TRAFFIC ACCIDENT: A driver was illegally driving in the southbound transit-only lane and collided with a lawfully turning second driver in the 14900 block of Bothell Way N.E. at the entrance of Acacia. The driver of the second vehicle suffered a minimal injury.

August 12

BAD DATE: A woman reported that she met a guy named β€œChuck” two years ago and had one date. He recently called and they went on a second date on Aug. 9. She found out at their dinner that he was still married and attempted to end the date.

SUSPICIOUS DEVICE: A man in the 19800 block of 31st Ave. N.E.Β found a suspicious item in the back of his truck that wrapped with electric tape, part of it fiberglass. He was concerned it was a pipe bomb. His son admitted to him over the phone that the device was the son’s creation. The son was asked to come to the scene and arrived a short time later, admitting he made a sparkler bomb device. However, he said the device was β€œscrewed up” and not operable. A King County deputy arrived spoke with the son and said the devices were common. The deputy took x-rays of the device to determine exactly what it was. The bomb squad removed the device and took it for disposal.
