Puget Sound Regional Council Recommends $6.9 Million in Transportation Funding for Shoreline
Money is part of $440 million in federal funds proposed by PSRC to improve transportation around the region

SEATTLE β The Puget Sound Regional Council is recommending $6.9 million in funding for projects in Shoreline, part of more than $440 million in federal funds proposed by PSRC to improve transportation around the region.
Projects in the Shoreline area include:
- Aurora Ave N (SR-99), N 192nd St to N 205th StΒ - $3,411,665
- N 175th Street Overlay Preservation Project, Midvale Avenue N to I-5 - $190,229
- Interurban Trail-Burke Gilman ConnectionΒ β 195th Street Trail (1st Ave NE β 5th Ave NE) - $371,950
- Westminster Way N Overlay Preservation Project, N 145th Street to Aurora Avenue N - $246,054
- Lynnwood to Northgate Link Light Rail ExtensionΒ - $2,691,969
βThese projects were selected on their merits and support the regionβs economic development and growth,β said Bellevue Councilmember Claudia Balducci, chair of PSRCβs Transportation Policy Board. Β βWhen Congress approved these funds earlier this year, their focus was on growing and sustaining jobs.Β These projects, large and small, will put people to work and shore up the foundations of our economy for the future.β

PSRC is encouraging public comments on the projects proposed for funding and on the regionβs draft Transportation Improvement Program for 2013-2016. The public comment period runs from September 13 through October 25, 2012. The vote by PSRCβs Executive Board to approve the 2013-2016 Transportation Improvement Program is scheduled for October 25.
