Shorecrest and Shorewood Rev Up for Fall Sports Postseason

Shorecrest and Shorewood kick off girls soccer playoffs today

The Shorewood girls won the 3A South league division championship, earning their first banner in volleyball since 1985. The 3A District 1 tournament begins Oct. 30.

Shorecrest and Shorewood enter 3A District 1 tournament play Saturday, Oct. 27. Shorecrest will host Marysville-Pilchuck at 7 p.m. at Shoreline Stadium. Shorewood will play at Everett at Lincoln Field at 1:30 p.m.

Carter Osborne of Shorecrest won the Wesco 3A boys Cross Country Championship last weekend in Marysville. Keenan Stephens of Shorewood was fifth. Gigi Vujovich of Shorecrest was fifth in the girls championships. Both Shorecrest and Shorewood compete this weekend at the 3A District 1 championships in Lakewood.

Girls Swimming

Shorewood won the regular season 3A league championship. Both Shorecrest and Shorewood will compete in the 3A District 1 championships beginning Nov. 2.

Boys Tennis

Shorecrest claimed the Northwest District 1 3A BoysΒ Tennis championship in Stanwood while qualifying four players and oneΒ alternate to May 2013's state tournament in Kennewick. Β 

Cameron McDowell and Stuart Schachle of Shorewood defeated Shorecrest'sΒ Chris Sato and NickΒ North to win the 3A District 1 doubles title.Β 

Shorecrest's Nishaant Limaye and Evan Saunders won third placeΒ and the final entry to the stateΒ tourney.Β The Scots sole singles entry, Β Andrew Copsey,Β earnedΒ a 4th place finish and an alternate slot to Kennewick in the spring.
