Shorecrest Baseball Completes Sweep of Oak Harbor
Shorewood-Shorecrest crosstown showdown to take place today and Friday

Shorecrest improved its Wesco 3A League record to 2-0 after pounding out 14 hits and beating Oak Harbor 9-4 Tuesday afternoon in Oak Harbor. Β
Skylar Shibayama (1-0) was the winning pitcher for the Scots after going five innings, allowing two earned runs, six strikeouts and a walk.
"We talked about pitching to contact, and minimizing walks. Β Skylar did that perfectly yesterday. He battled out there and worked really well with Michael (the catcher) on pitch selection," coach Alan Bruns said.

Shorecrest's hot hitting continued, as the team scored in five of seven innings, and six players with had two-hit games, with eight of nine starters with at least one hit.
Hayden McNabb kept up his terrific start, with two more hits, and keeping his average at .500.

Other key contributors included Neil Baldwin,who had two hits and double to the wall; Β Jack Aitchison who had two hits, with a double, and a key sac fly RBI; and Michael Rigby who broke out with two hard hit singles.
"Our team confidence at the plate has been contagious in the early going this season. Scoring first, Β scoring often, and clutch 2-out hits have been key to our success so far," Bruns said. "I was very pleased with guys throughout the lineup playing a role in the offense. Β We'll face a couple strong, powerful arms against Shorewood tonight and Friday. Β I'm excited to see how we respond. Β The guys are definitely ready for the crosstown showdown."
