Shoreline City Council to Discuss Light Rail Framework Policies

The Shoreline City Council meets tonight at 7 p.m. at Shoreline City Hall.

On the agenda tonight is discussion of the city's framework goals for the Light Rail project, formerly known as the North Corridor Transit Project, and now known as the Lynnwood Link Extension.

Early in the planning process, Sound Transit needed a project name that encompassed several modes of transit considered in the Alternatives Analysis phase. Now that light rail has been confirmed as the best transit mode to serve the Interstate 5 corridor between Northgate and Lynnwood, the new name appropriately includes Link light rail and the new line's end point.

After the flag salute, a member of the Council will read a proclamation for Armed Services Appreciation Week and there will be recognition of outgoing planning commissioners and outgoing Library Board Members.

Adoption of Ordinance No. 633 Amending Regulation of Right-of-Way Permits Established in Chapter 12.15 of the Shoreline Municipal Code

Adoption of Resolution No. 325 amending the Employee Handbook regarding compensation of employees assigned to twelve hour shifts to respond to inclement weather, natural disasters or other similar emergency events

Authorize the City Manager to Execute an Agreement with the WA State Department of Ecology to Obligate Grant Funds for the Aurora Corridor Project N 192^nd St – N 205^th St

A public hearing wil then be held to hear to receive citizens’ comments on the Shoreline Master Program.
