Shoreline Council Preview: Proposed Park for Sunset School, Comp. Plan Update on Agenda
Last meeting of 2012 starts at 7 p.m. at City Hall Council chambers

The Shoreline City Council will discuss the theΒ Β Sunset Park Joint Use AgreementΒ at its final meeting of 2012.
The Shoreline School Board closed Sunset in 2007 because of declining enrollment and to save money. A citizens group,Β Friends of Sunset ParkΒ proposed turning it into park, and raised money while working with the school district and city to develop a master site plan.
The School District is expected to finish tearing down the school by the end of the year or early 2012.

The city is expected to contributeΒ $204,990 from its Capital Improvment Plan to the project and then take over maintenance and field scheduling of the new park.

The Council is also expected toΒ adopt Ordinance No. 649, the update of the Comprehensive Plan, a culmination of a year-long process that included a significant amount of work by the Planning Commission.
