UPDATE: Shoreline Girl, 12, Raped in Apartment Early Sunday
Police are searching for man who raped girl in 20000 block of Whitman Ave. N.

A 12-year-girl was raped during the early morning hours of Sunday, December 4, when an unidentified suspect entered an apartment in the 20000 Β block of Whitman Avenue North in the city of Shoreline.Β Β
The victim was asleep and awoke to the man in her room. The victimβs mother came home during the assault and the suspect fled on foot.
The suspect is described as a white male, in his 30s, approximately 5-feet, 10-inches with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a white and blue shirt with horizontal stripes and dark jeans.

In addition to the Major Crimes Detectives working on this case, the Shoreline Police will have extra patrols in the area effective immediately during the late afternoon and early morning hours. Please make sure and call 911 immediately regarding any suspicious activity or persons observed in the area.
On a personal safety note, people should lock their doors at all times. Suspects look for easy access to residences. Leaving on a radio, lights or a TV can help to deter an intruder.
