Shoreline Police Blotter: M80 Explosive Set Off in Apartment Dumpster Causes Fire

July 4
FIREWORKS CONFISCATED: Some people were lighting fireworks, which are illegal in Shoreline, at the beach in the 19400 block of 27th Ave. N.W. and left their mess. The police had them clean it up and confiscated the remaining fireworks.
CRIMINAL WARRANT: A male suspect was passed out in the driver's seat of a vehicle in the McDonald's parking lot, 15200 block of Aurora Ave. N. He was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

BURGLARY: Someone pulled the exterior door until the top lock gave way to force entry into Berean Bible Church in the 2300 block of N. 185th St.
INDECENT EXPOSURE: A guy exposed his penis and fondled himself in front of Β a female victim at N.E. 169th St. and 15th Ave. N.E.

FIREWORKS CONFISCATED: Police confiscated fireworks from a person, who was cooperative, in the 15400 block of 15th Ave. N.E.
FIREWORKS CONFISCATED: Some people were lighting off fireworks in Hillwood Park in the 19000 block of 3rd Ave. N.W. Police warned them that fireworks are illegal in Shoreline and to stay out of the parks after dark. One person ran from police and was later identified and cited for being in the park after hours. The fireworks were given up for disposal to police.
EXPLOSION: An M80 explosive was placed and set off in a dumpster at the Autumn Ridge Apartments, 15100 block Stone Lane N., causing an explosion and fire.
July 5
FIREWORKS CONFISCATED: Police confiscated fireworks from people in Innis Arden Reserve, 17700 15th Ave. N.W., and warned them for being in the park after hours.
BURGLARYΒ COMMERCIAL: Suspect(s) broke out a window pane in the roll up door at Jiffy Lube, 14710 Aurora Ave. N., and broke into the shop and attempted to break open the safe and took coins from the cash drawer.
AUTO THEFT: The owner of VW Passat said her car was stolen overnight from the 1200 block of N.E. 168th St. She believes her son and an unidentifed female person are involved.
DRUNKENNESS: A person was found passed out on a sidewalk drunk and was sent to Northwest Hospital for detoxification.
ASSAULT: A female person had a property dispute with three guys who she said, "doesn't know," and got punched in the face and kicked out of a car in the 2200 block of Ballinger Way N.E.
FIREWORKS CONFISCATED: A guy was having a post July 4th fireworks display in his backyard in the 15700 block of Ashworth Ave. N. much to the dismay of his neighbors. The fireworks were confiscated by police.
MARIJUANA: Police stopped two individuals for trying to jump a fence into a secure area of the Rodeway Inn, 14817 Aurora Ave. N., and one them was found to have some marijuana.
July 6
PROSTITUTION AND PIMPING: Individuals involved in prostitution and pimping were trespassed from the Rodeway Inn, 14817 Aurora Ave. N.
MENTAL COMPLAINTS: A man in the 16000 block Sunnyside Ave. N. was despondent over the status of Department of Labor and Industries claim. He takes medication for chronic back pain and depression.
VEHICLE PROWL: Someone broke a driver's side front window on a vehicle parked in the 17400 block 12th Ave. N.E.Β
July 7
EXPLOSION: Somone put a large firework in a port-a-potty in the 2000 block of N.E. 185th St.Β
July 8
MENTAL COMPLAINTS: A guy damaged property and barricaded himself in his father's apartment in Westminster Manor, 14701 Dayton Ave. N. He was sent to the hospital via ambulance for treatment.
