Shoreline Police Blotter: Known Suspect Takes Unauthorized Picture of Baby During Diaper Change

The following blotter items range from July 28, 2012 - August 1, 2012. Information on arrests is supplied by the Shoreline Police Department. The reports do not indicate a conviction.

JULY 28

MENTAL COMPLAINTS:Β  A man in the 100 block of NW 201st Street posted remarks on a Skype message board about possibly committing suicide.Β  He was involuntarily committed to NW Hospital.

TWO VEHICLE RECOVERIES:Β  First incident was at 1524 N 200th Street when a stolen car was left abandoned and recovered from the transit center parking lot.Β  The second incident happened at Shari’s Restaurant, 15200 Aurora Ave N.Β  A stolen vehicle was found in the parking lot of Shari’s.

  • 400 block of NW 203rd Street:Β  Someone used 2 big rocks to smash the front windshield of a car
  • 500 block of NW 205th Street: A driver rear side window was smashed out and a big rock was found inside the back seat of the car
  • NW 201st/12th Ave NW:Β  The front windshield of a car was smashed
  • 20200 block of 12th Ave NW:Β  The rear window of a car was smashed

MENTAL COMPLAINTS:Β  The police received a phone call from The Fred Meyer at 185th and Aurora Ave.Β  There was a complaint about a female who had orange paint on her face.Β  This female was yelling at people and using a shopping cart to run into other customers and doors.Β  The female spoke incoherently.

Β JULY 31

TRESPASSING AT RIDGECREST MIDDLE SCHOOL:Β  Two people were inside a two door Toyota truck nearby NE 165the Street and 10th Ave NE.Β  They were getting ready to have sexual intercourse on school property.

OBSTRUCTING AN OFFICER:Β  A man was found nearby The Shoreline Motel (16500 block of Aurora Ave) slumped over the steering wheel of a car with constricted pupils.Β  The man drove off during a physical control investigation.

LARCENY:Β  A young man took shoes out of a box at Sears and stole the shoes by putting the pair down his shorts and walking out of the store at 15711 Aurora Ave N.

VEHICLE RECOVERY:Β  A suspicious car with stolen plates was recovered from the 14700 block of Aurora Ave North.Β  It was an unreported stolen vehicle from Seattle.Β  There were some items in the car that suggested a crime happened.Β  The items included a hacksaw, deposit bag, moneybox, safe box, disposable gloves and drug paraphernalia.

SEX OFFENSE:Β  A known suspect took a picture of a one-year-old victim during a diaper change without permission.Β  This happened in the 1200 block of NW 202nd.Β 

STOLEN PROPERTY:Β  A person who used to work for Collision Tech, Inc at 19342 Firland Way North broke into the business and stole tools. Β This person pawned the tools for cash.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY:Β  A person cut out a screen door and entered via the rear door of a home in the 19500 block of 5th Ave NE.Β  The thief stole jewelry and a laptop.

Β AUGUST 1

SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES:Β  An officer met a woman in the 19500 block of 23rd Ave NE.Β  The woman spoke about dangerous people who might hurt her family. She also shared that her son may have been molested during a BBQ in Seattle.

FRAUD:Β  A woman in the 2500 block of NW 194th Street said she received a phone call from someone who sounded like her grandson.Β  The person told a lie about how he was on vacation in Quebec, got arrested and needed money to get out of jail to catch a plane ride home.Β 

HIT AND RUN:Β  This happened in the 18500 block of Aurora Ave N.Β  The car was occupied and there were no injuries.

HIT AND RUN:Β  A parked vehicle was the victim in the 17800 block of 5th Ave NE.Β  There was no one inside the car.
