Shoreline Police Catch Man Who Robbed Aurora Businesses to Support Heroin Habit
Suspect robbed Walgreen's at N. 175th and Aurora on Sunday and Supercuts on Tuesday

A man suspected in two Aurora Ave. N. robberies was arrested by Shoreline Police last night.Β
Shoreline Master Police Officer Rich Torres observed a man walking down Aurora Ave. N. behaving suspiciously,Β Thursday about 8:45 p.m.Β
Torres contacted the man, who produced blue gloves from his pocket. Torres transported the suspect to the Shoreline precinct for further investigation.Β

Major Crimes Detective Christina Bartlett questioned the suspect who eventually confessed to both two robberies of businesses on Aurora Ave. earlier in the week. The suspect claimed that the robberies were a spur of the moment decision to support his heroin habit.
The first robbery occurred on Sunday, at 6:45 p.m. when the suspect entered the at N. 175th and Aurora wearing bright blue ski gloves. He pulled out a note from his pocket and handed it to the Walgreenβs employee, telling her that he had a gun.

The second robbery happened Tuesday, at 3:20 p.m. The suspect who was wearing bright blue gloves entered on Westminster Way N and robbed the store. As in the previous incident, the suspect handed a note to the victim. This time however, the suspect pulled a gun from his sweatshirt pocket and displayed it to the victim.
Photographs from the robberies were distributed to area police agencies to help identify the suspect.
