Farrell, Pollet, leading in 46th District Races
Newcomer Jessyn Farrell is leading Sarajane Siegfriedt in the Position 2 race to replace Phyillis Gutierrez-Kenney while incumbent Gerry Pollet is leading Sylvester Cann in the Position 1 race.

Democrat Jessyn Farrell is leading Democrat Sarajane Siegfriedt in early King County returns in the 46th District Position 2 race to replace retiring state Rep. Phyllis Gutierrez-Kenney.
Farrell, who led the August primary, has 63.95 percent of the vote to Siegfriedt's 36.05 percent withΒ 35,980 ballots counted.
Lake Forest Park is new to the 46th Legislative District after redistricting.

Both candidates have similar stances on the issues and said education was their top priorty. Siegfriedt said sheΒ will vote to raise enough revenue through tax increases on the wealthy and through repealing unproductive tax exemptions to pay for the first $1 billion downpayment on education that the court says we need to fund education. Farrell said inΒ order to make sure every child comes to school ready to learn, we need to rethink the way we fund our education system and social welfare programs
Farrell, is currently Youth Civic Education Initiative Coordinator for the Seattle City Club, andΒ Siegfriedt, who is a current member, of the King County Board of Equalization, both live in Seattle.

In the Position 1 race, incumbent Democrat Gerry Pollet, an attorney, leads Democratic challenger Sylvester Cann, former legislative aide to the late state Sen. Scott White, 67.09 percent to 32.91 percent with 37,202 ballots counted.Β
46th District State Sen. David Frockt will also retain his seat after running unopposed.Β
