• Eight-hour rescue frees draft horse trapped for 11 hours against wall in University Place (kiro7.com) — A massive overnight rescue effort in University Place saved a 23-year-old draft horse named Theo after he became trapped against a wooden wall for up to 11 hours. Volunteers from the Washington State Animal Response Team and a Tacoma veterinarian used specialized lifting gear, sedation, and hours of careful work in cold, muddy conditions to get him safely standing again.
