Northshore School District: District Receives 'Distinguished Budget Presentation Award' For Second Consecutive Year

The Northshore School District has earned the "Distinguished Budget Presentation Award" from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA). This award was established, according to the GFOA, "to encourage and assist state and local governments to prepare budget documents of the very highest quality that reflect both the guidelines established by the National Advisory Council on State and Local Budgeting and the GFOA's best practices on budgeting and then to recognize individual governments that succeed in achieving that goal." This is the second consecutive year the District has received this recognition, which stems from our efforts to improve fiscal transparency. The GFOA is a 22,000-member association of state and local finance officers in the United States and Canada, with its headquarters in Chicago, IL.
