The Scoop on Poop and More at Brightwater Center this Summer

Schoolโ€™s almost out and Brightwater is offering a variety of summer programs for young kids, teens and even adults.ย King Countyโ€™s Brightwater Center is located at 22505 State Route 9 S.E. in Woodinville.

Intro to Nature Photography, ย Saturday, June 8, 9 a.m. to noon.ย ย Dust off your camera and join us for an inspirational morning in the field with photographer and artist Jeanne Dodds.ย The workshop will begin with classroom-based instruction, followed by time on the Brightwater nature trails with our cameras at the ready.ย There will be time to share and critique our work at the end of class while we enjoy a light snack. The Scoop on Poop, Saturday, June 15, 10 a.m. to noon
Poop. We all do it; from birds to worms to humans. Come to Brightwater Center and join Island Wood and King County as we explore the world of poop and the science behind it. Weโ€™ll search for the poop of the coyotes, deer, rabbits, and otters that live at Brightwater and learn how even when we donโ€™t see wildlife, we can find evidence of their presence. ย Free. Brightwater Summer Camp Programs with IslandWood, July 8 to Aug. 2
King County partner IslandWood is proud to offer four weeks of exciting, adventurous, and educational summer nature camps this year at Brightwater. We have a variety of camps for children entering kindergarten through 6th grade. โ€Open House and Plant Tours, Saturday, June 15 and July 20, 10 a.m. to noon
Take a tour of King Countyโ€™s newest clean-water facility and learn how waste is treated, recycled and safely returned to the environment. Children must be at least 9 years old to take the tour, and sturdy close-toed shoes are required. Register at:ย http://green.kingcounty.gov/wastewater-education/apptrequest.aspx.
