Woodinville Fifth-Grader is Top Fundraiser in State for American Heart Association
Hollywood Hill fifth-grader Lizzy Strande is currently the top fundraiser in the state in the Jump Rope for Heart program.
Hollywood Hill Elementary fifth-grader Lizzy Strande is currently the top fundraiser in the state in the Jump Rope for Heart program.
Strande has participated in the program for several years and has raised nearly $3,000 for the American Heart Association, which funds research, programs and education to fight heart disease and stroke, our nation’s No. 1 and No. 4 killers, according to a news release.
When asked about her success, Lizzy said, “I enjoy helping people. I understand why this is important.”

She also said her hand was sore from writing a lot of thank you cards to everyone who donated.
Jump Rope For Heart is a program that promotes physical activity and heart health through jumping rope. PE Teacher Victoria Gray taught a jump rope unit while encouraging the students to learn about healthy hearts and helping others.
