Sheetz To Lower Gas Prices In WV Just In Time For July 4
The Pennsylvania-based company said on Monday it would immediately lower the price of fuel to below $4 per gallon.

WEST VIRGINIA — Just days ahead of the Fourth of July holiday, convenience store chain Sheetz announced it will lower gas prices at its West Virginia pumps to ease the cost of travel this holiday weekend.
On Monday, the Pennsylvania-based company said it would immediately lower the price of fuel to $3.99 a gallon for Unleaded 88 and $3.49 a gallon for E85. The limited-time price will be available through the Fourth of July, the company said in a news release.
As of Tuesday, the average price for a gallon of gas in West Virginia was $4.84, according to AAA.

Despite the high prices, a drop in the global price of oil has helped the national average for a gallon of gas to fall for a second consecutive week to land at $4.89, according to AAA. Fears of a potential global recession have led to less demand for oil, which dropped the price to around $107 per barrel, down from $110 last week.
If you're not sure whether you can take advantage of the lower prices at Sheetz, keep these facts in mind:

- Unleaded 88 can be used in vehicles that are model years 2001 or newer as well as light-duty trucks, SUVs and flexible fuel vehicles.
- E85 contains more ethanol and is not compatible with all vehicles. It is designed specifically for flexible fuel vehicles or FFVs. E85 is clearly designated as a different fuel type and should not be used in standard vehicles. Check your owner’s manual to see if your car is able to run with E85.
