• Funding approved for Mercer County Health Department security system upgrade (wvva.com) — Mercer County commissioners have agreed to fund a new $16,000 security system for the Mercer County Health Department and approved several opioid-settlement allocations, including upgrades for law enforcement and emergency services. They also finalized an updated agreement with the city of Bluefield to coordinate disaster response, plus small grants for the Keep Mercer Clean campaign and Princeton’s New Year’s Eve celebration.
   

• Landau Eugene Murphy Jr.'s Home for the Holidays tour returns for 15th year (wvva.com) — Bluefield residents are at the heart of Landau Eugene Murphy Jr.’s 15th annual Home for the Holidays tour, which kicks off a new run of West Virginia shows this week. The America’s Got Talent winner will perform Christmas favorites with his Little Big Band, joined by country artist Delnora, while also supporting adult education outreach and a toy drive for kids.
