WISCONSIN — A narrow band of rain and snow is expected to move across Wisconsin overnight, with parts of central Wisconsin likely seeing slushy accumulations and slick travel conditions during the Tuesday morning commute, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters say the system will track west-to-east late tonight, with rain holding on across southern and lakeshore counties but changing to all snow farther north. Areas along and north of a line from the Wisconsin Dells to Montello and Berlin have the best chance at seeing 1 to 2 inches, with isolated totals near 3 inches.

Most of that snow is expected to fall between 3 AM and 9 AM Tuesday, when snowfall rates could exceed a half-inch per hour.
