Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers Issues 9 More Pardons
The total number of people Evers pardoned since he took office is now 65.

MADISON, WI—Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers has pardoned nine more people, his office announced on Tuesday. Since taking office, Evers has pardoned 65 people, according to The Associated Press.
Evers' predecessor, Gov. Scott Walker, didn't issue any pardons over eight years.
Evers’ office said the latest pardons were for two former marijuana dealers; a former cocaine dealer; a man who got into a fight 14 years ago; a woman who struck her daughter nearly 26 years ago; a woman who used someone else’s credit card at a store 24 years ago; a man who cashed forged checks he stole from a family friend 36 years ago; a woman who wrote worthless checks more than 25 years ago; and a man who burglarized a gas station a decade ago.

According to Gov. Evers' website, "A pardon is a grant of forgiveness from the Governor that can restore certain civil rights and privileges, and relieve some legal disabilities. A pardon does not seal a record, but public records would reflect the pardon."
