Each residency lasts three consecutive months, is flexible, and can get as creative as you like. Artists receive an honorarium provided by Friends of the Appleton Library. Typically, a residency includes providing three workshops and displaying art in our gallery. No previous residency experience is necessary.

Artists will be selected by our Artist-in-Residence curators, Melanie Thurber, Adult Services and Engagement Librarian; Ally Wilbur, artist, Curator of Public Programs for the Museum of Wisconsin Art and Executive Director for the Wisconsin Visual Artists; and Stephanie Harvey, artist, Staff Creative at McFleshman's Brewing Co., and staunch public art advocate. Submissions will close Wednesday, September 15. To apply or learn more, please fill out our online form or email Melanie at mthurber@apl.org.
