Why did you choose to study this field?

Believe it or not, I chose the Medical Assistant program when COVID-19 hit our nation. I previously worked as a receptionist at the hospital and noticed how much empathy I had towards ill patients coming in, and soon realized I wanted to do more for people and be on the front lines to help others.

Tell us how you came to choose FVTC for your education.

I chose Fox Valley Technical College because it had a campus closer to my home. I was very fortunate that the program I wanted to join offered all of the required classes right here in Oshkosh.

What's been the most rewarding part of your educational journey at FVTC?

The most rewarding part of my education journey is meeting friends and instructors with the same passion. The girls in my class and my instructors have impacted my journey so much and have brought on great memories. This made going to class exciting, fun, and easy. It also has been rewarding in general learning how to take care of and monitor my future patients and my family.

What was the most difficult part?

The most difficult part was being able to work and focus on school at the same time. I was fortunate enough to be able to cut my hours at my job so I could focus more on my schooling, and I don't regret that one bit!

What will you do on graduation day or in the future to celebrate graduation?

I will most likely spend the day with my family!

Tell us about your plans after graduation.

I plan on continuing my education through Fox Valley tech as soon as possible and join the nursing program. I want to continue to learn and grow as a Nursing student.

One last parting thought or words of wisdom to share with others.

It's never too late to go back to school!!
