The winning team was comprised of students Dorea Lauer, Occupational Therapy Assistant; Katelynn Leverenz, Accounting; Kimberly Martin, Natural Resources; and Eric Saeger, Small Business Entrepreneurship. They earned the award at the Catalyst Hallmark Awards virtual ceremony in April 2021, for their work on the project “Virtual Communication in an Online Learning Environment.”

The project focused on improving communication between students and faculty in the new all-online learning environment brought on by COVID-19.

The idea for this project stemmed from an idea sparked by Dr. Susan May, and was the result of many months of hard work and dedication by the students. This is only the second time the FVTC chapter has been recognized with this award.

“We are so proud of this team, especially given all the unique challenges they have encountered this past year,” says PTK advisor Jennifer McIntosh.
