Updated Guidance On AASD School Day Masking

Students and staff may remove their masks while outside on school grounds.

Starting on May 17, 2021, and for the remainder of the school year, students and staff may remove their masks while outside on school grounds during the school day. Masks are still required inside all school and district buildings and on buses.

We continue to monitor and respond to the most recent data and guidance for the well-being of our students. We will also continue to implement physical distancing and good hand hygiene.

Guidelines for AASD Outdoor Activities and Special Events as of May 17, 2021
The following guidelines have been developed for use during outdoor activities beyond the regular school day in the AASD through the end of the 20-21 school year:

AASD Outdoor Sports/Co-Curricular Activities:
Students - Masks optional while competing or performing/Masks required on the sideline, bench, dugout, etc.
Coaches - Referees, Umpires - Masks required at all times when in close contact with students or others.
Spectators, others - Masks strongly encouraged at all times when moving about on school grounds and/or when physical distancing from others is not possible.

AASD Outdoor Performances/Graduation/Events/End of Year Celebrations:
Students - Masks required when moving about on school grounds, receiving an award/diploma or when physical distancing from others is not possible.
Student Musicians - Masks optional while performing (singing, playing instruments)/Masks required when not performing.
Spectators, others - Masks strongly encouraged at all times when moving about on school grounds and/or when physical distancing from others is not possible.
