We Honor Jesus this Christmas

While many are preparing to celebrate the birth of Jesus with holiday festivities, I would like to mention that in Islam the highest status that a human being can achieve is the status of prophethood.

As an Ahmadi Muslim-American, I believe that Jesus was a beloved prophet of God. He has a special status in Islam.

In fact, I say “peace be upon him” every time I hear or say his name. His name is also mentioned many times in the Quran.

I love Jesus because his teachings of love, peace, service to humanity and sacrificing for others are very important lessons that if we act upon in our daily lives, can bring peace in the world.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community makes an effort throughout the year to serve the less fortunate by preparing meals for the homeless shelters, arranging winter clothes drives, and providing community services like blood drives.

Through these activities, we express our love and respect for Jesus.

I wish and pray this holiday season for peace and harmony in America and the world!
