1 Injured In Sunday Night Crash On West Capitol Drive

One person was injured after a single-car crash caused the eastbound side of West Capitol Drive to close Sunday evening.

BROOKFIELD, WI — One person was injured after a single car crash at the intersection of West Capitol Drive and Gateway Road Sunday night.

The crash happened around 5:25 p.m. Sunday.

The Brookfield Police Department temporarily shut down the east bound side of West Capitol Drive for investigation and reconstruction, Brookfield Police Captain Chris Garcia told Patch.

A 22-year-old Waukesha man who was the driver of the car that crashed, he added. No one else was injured.

The man was taken to the hospital for medical treatment, Garcia said. The crash was alcohol related and the police would driving while intoxicated press charges, he added.
