Post-Thanksgiving Burning and Bonding: The Kelly Johnson Foundation to host 8th annual Turkey Trot
Brookfield, Wisconsin: Please join the Kelly Johnson Foundation (KJF) at their 8th annual Turkey Trot on Saturday, November 29th, 2025!

The Kelly Johnson Foundation (KJF) has hosted this event the past seven years, raising over $25,000, while gathering community together to get some physical activity, help burn off that Thanksgiving meal, and create family memories that last a lifetime. Proceeds from the race will help the KJF support local high schools across the Midwest that do not have enough funding for after-school athletic and extracurricular programs along with KJF’s scholarship program.
The 5K race is timed, with awards given out to the top three male and female runners broken down by age, as well as the overall top male and female finisher. Divisions for both male and female runners include 14 & under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. Do you have what it takes to win your age division? Top overall? Register as soon as possible, as racers who register before November 1st will receive an exclusive long sleeve moisture wicking Turkey Trot shirt prior to the race. After the race, there will be refreshments and a raffle with prizes provided by sponsors like Wisconsin Athletic Club and Performance Running Outfitters.
The Turkey Trot will begin at 9 am and will be located at Fox Brook Park (2925 N Barker Rd, Brookfield, WI 53045). This is also the place where you can pick up your pre-race packet from 12-4 pm on November 26th and where you can also register for the 5k on race day from 8:00 to 8:45 am. Registration costs $35 for adults, $20 for youth 14 and under, and $30 for seniors 65 and older for anyone who pre-registers before Thursday, November 27th. Race day registration will be $40 for adults, $25 for youth 14 and under, and $35 for seniors 65 and older. Furthermore if you register as a family, you will receive a $10 discount at the end of your order. Act fast though, as the 5k field will be limited to 250 spots.
Beyond the race, the event is in need of volunteers to help run this amazing event. From assisting with Packet Pickup and Set-up to Event Photography and being a Lead Cyclist, there are many opportunities to help out. Apart from the service hours one can put on their resume, volunteers will receive refreshments and have a fun time.
