2 Evaluated At Hospital After Fire At Brookfield Home

BROOKFIELD, WI — Two people were evaluated at a hospital after a fire broke out Saturday at a home in the 14000 block of Woodland Place, according to the Brookfield Fire Department.

Firefighters were called in around 5:15 a.m. and found heavy smoke and flames on the home's second floor, a news release from the fire department said. The fire was under control by around 6 a.m.

All residents and their dog made it out of the house before firefighters arrived, the news release said. The American Red Cross is assisting the homeowners, the fire department said.

Investigators are still looking into what caused the fire.
