WAUKESHA COUNTY, WI — A knife-carrying 28-year-old man was arrested Monday night after authorities said he assaulted Waukesha County Sheriff's deputies, resulting in injuries to two deputies.

Sheriff's officials say a deputy on patrol pulled the man over just after 7 p.m. Monday near Capitol Drive and Cecelia Drive in Pewaukee after suspecting he was driving while he was impaired. Authorities said the man argued with deputies and wouldn't listen to commands.

According to sheriff's officials, as the deputy waited for backup, the man got out of his car and assaulted the deputy. During the altercation, the deputy suffered a cut to his forearm, as well as bruises to his head, hip, and knees, authorities said Tuesday.
